WINTERGREEN RESORT MEMORIAL DAY SHOW THIS WEEKEND
So I finally decided to make some looooooong necklaces. For years I have been asked to make longer necklaces. I made three this week that with some gorgeous gemstones I purchased last week at the InterGem show in Dulles. I LOVE the creative explosions I have when I've got some new materials to work with. These necklaces are so long they didn't even fit on my photographing rock. They are also a bit asymmetrical which is also out of my comfort zone. But I do like the look of it!! What do you think?
SPRING HOUSE RENOVATION NEWS!!
We are SOOOOOOO excited!!! After what seems like forever, the final BIG log is up in place!! WAHOOOOOOO! This is the culmination of over a years worth of searching, scouring and tons of Craigslist wanted ads to locate the right logs. And countless hours of my husband and father-in-law planning on how each piece will fit together. They successfully got this HEAVY 26 foot 200 year old hand hewn log to the top without anything except wood, a ladder and a jack. My father-in-law and husband are AMAZING! In other news, we have had waaaaaaay too much rain. It's pretty nerve tacking to have a building with NO ROOF with all this rain that we have been having. I cannot wait to see the roof go on this thing soon.
The proud builders!!!
I am hoping to be back at the city market again in a few weeks. In July I am planning an open studio tour day with several other local artists and can't wait to show you all around the farm again!! The day is Saturday, July 28th.
